Dads, brothers, racing and safari.

I’m at work. I went to pick up my Dad from the airport – he just came back from Montreal where he met my older brother – they watched the Formula 1 races there. They had a lot of fun – and even got to find bits of what was a gopher on the racetrack! Fun times eh? And they say it was pretty exciting what with some crashes, people getting black flagged (kicked out?), and after all of that, it being won by a rookie Brit! Congratulations Lewis Hamilton!

They also went to see my younger brother’s new place in Chicoutmi! They had a good visit there too I understand. I was invited to go on this extravaganza of a trip, but I wasn’t sure at the time about what would be going on with work, and I had my heart set on this motorcycle trip to California. If it was MotoGP?! Well, that would have been a slightly different story!

Anyway… speaking of work, I still don’t know what is happening. I don’t know where I am going. Officially my curacy ends the end of August, as St. Mary’s gets a new curate effective the 1st of September. I am waiting to hear what the Bishop has in store for me, as options and possibilities dwindle down to nothing… he says he has a plan…. I trust him…. but I realize that the Capital Region is basically everywhere south of the Malahat…. and it occurred to me that I may have to move. Hooray for moving! One of my least favorite activities. Well, we’ll wait and see what happens.

On Friday when I was out and about, I found out that there is a dojo that trains the Yoshinkan style of Aikido – I did about 4 years of training in that style in Toronto, and a little in Vancouver. I reaaaaaalllly need to do something, so I’m going to go and check it out. Yay Aikido!

I just read on BBC news that Apple has released Safari for Windows! The in-tor-net competition heats up even more! read about it if you care: here.

  1. Ooo! Aikido, eh? That sounds really cool. I miss practicing Iaido. Bo seems to have lost interest in it (for good reason, mind you…) and I have apparently forgotten to practice, too.

I hope you don’t have to move far, if you have to move. I likes the hanging out with you, when it is fortunate enough to occur, and it would be a shame if it happened even less often!

I think this is the first comment here. Does that mean I get some geek points?

  2. cool! Thank you for telling me about your blog. It looks so cool and I am glad that you found Aikido dojo. I hope you can go soon. Also, I hope you will know soon about your where you will work. I know what you mean about moving because I done so much and it is not fun at all….

Anyway, I will try to come often Aniki!!
